Wedding Ceremony Basilica di Castel Sant'Elia (Castel Sant'Elia).
The
church is a Romanic Basilica from the 10th century and has been awarded national monument privileges. It is said that
Emperor Nero built a temple here in honor of Diana, the Huntress. It is certain, however, that St.Benedict founded five abbeys
in the area of Rome, one of which was dedicated "to St.Elias in Suppentonia". Above the crypt and the original basilica
(8-9th century), Abbot Elias built the present church and the cloister in the 10th century.
The Basilica is located in the town of Castel Sant'Elia. This town is about 45 minutes drive outside of Rome. We will
arrange a bus that will pick up our "out-of-town" guests from Rome (city center) take them to Castel Sant'Elia for
the wedding ceremony and then back to the wedding reception in Rome.
